Blue Devil twin-shaft shredder – Versatility as a stand-alone unit or in pre-shredding
The Blue Devil is our low-speed, high-torque twin-shaft shredder, a machine that has revolutionised scrap processing at over 150 sites worldwide. This solution meets the needs of those seeking process simplicity and low operating costs. It offers unique flexibility thanks to two operating modes:
- Stand-Alone use – the Hoffmann Schrott case: The adoption of the Blue Devil twin-shaft shredder proved to be a winning strategic choice for Hoffmann Schrott, the family-run business in Germersheim led by Patrick Hoffmann. The introduction of the machine in stand-alone mode has generated tangible and immediate benefits, optimising material preparation for the subsequent stages of the process. By reducing particle size, the shredder enables a higher material density, with a direct positive impact on both transport costs and storage and post-treatment expenses.
- In-line use – the Alfa Recycling case study: Positioned as a pre-shredder upstream of the hammer mill, the Blue Devil has enabled the Munich-based company to increase productivity by 30–40%, reduce power consumption peaks and drastically cut down on machine downtime. The operational figures speak for themselves: around 25 tonnes of scrap processed per hour, 250 tonnes per day throughput, and fewer explosions thanks to pre-shredding.
