Our donations to the Basso Garda Civil Defence at work in 2024
On the occasion of World Earth Day, we would like to highlight our active support to local communities. In 2024, we joined forces with other companies in the area to donate essential resources to the Basso Garda Civil Defence, reinforcing our commitment to social responsibility.
The first donation, which took place in May 2024, concerned a 55 kW power generator, supplied together with a transport trolley made by Terraroli S.r.l. of Pozzolengo. The generator is capable of producing electricity for 18 consecutive hours, guaranteeing enough power for 18 flats and representing an essential resource for the provincial Civil Protection’s mobile column.
The second donation was a mobile field kitchen, equipped on a par with a professional kitchen, capable of preparing meals for 250 people per hour and dealing effectively with emergency situations. This project was made possible thanks to our support and that of four other sponsors: Fival, Gazebo Flash, Vigilanza Group and Enercon.

We are proud to illustrate how, during 2024, these tools were instrumental, starting with the most recent events and ending with their inauguration:
Emergency camp for the RDN national exercise
In the Parco Spiaggia d’Oro in Desenzano del Garda, a national exercise organised by the Rescue Drone Network took place. The field kitchen provided meals for the 100 volunteers, while the generator powered the base camp and support structures for the rescue operations.

Volunteer Day
During the annual event in the square in Desenzano del Garda, we displayed the generator and field kitchen. This day made the community aware of the vital importance of Civil Protection, showing the tools and equipment used in emergency situations.

Open Day Emergency Pole
The Open Day at the Emergency Pole offered the public a chance to see first-hand the day-to-day operations for city safety, with the generator used to support activities such as radio broadcasting, lighting, and refreshment areas.

Inauguration of the field kitchen
This special event introduced the new field kitchen, capable of handling up to 250 hot meals per hour in an emergency, culminating in a demonstration dinner. Purchased used by a civil protection unit in southern Italy that had disposed of it, the kitchen was refurbished and adapted to the needs of the Desenzano unit.

School camp ‘Io Sono Informato’ in Sirmione
A week-long school camp educated young people on emergency management, using both the field kitchen and the generator to simulate a real emergency environment and provide basic necessities for the camp.
18 august 24 – 25 august 24
Emergency Simulation
An intensive two-day simulation tested the management of an emergency camp, with the field kitchen and generator used to provide the sustenance and energy needed for the entire camp and the tenting and logistical support operations.
15 and 16 august 24
Field Life in Ospitaletto
The generator played a crucial role in powering the base camp during a youth training event, ensuring that all logistical needs were covered.

Inauguration of the generator at the Emergency Pole
The inauguration of the generator marked an important moment, symbolising the commitment of Zato and the other sponsors in supporting the operations of the Basso Garda Civil Protection, which appointed us as Honorary Member.
